Abstract

The corpus contains the Roman period inscriptions of Aquincum (today Budapest, Hungary), the capital of Pannonia Inferior. The inscriptions of Aquincum were published last time more than 100 years ago by Theodor Mommsen in the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum. Since that time the number of these inscriptions has been duplicated (around 1000) therefore this publication has been a great desideratum of the Hungarian Classical Scholarship for a long time. In the first volume the building, the honorary and the votive inscriptions can be found, the second contains the funerary and uncertain inscriptions and the index epigraphicus. Similarly to the CIL, the language of the volumes remains the Latin
