Abstract

The first volume of 'Studies in Byzantine Epigraphy', produced in the framework of the Epigraphy Commission of the Association Internationale des Études Byzantines (AIEB), encompasses contributions which are mainly based on the following events: the Round Table on Byzantine Epigraphy at the International Congress of Byzantine Studies in Belgrade in 2016, and two Panels at the International Congress of Greek and Latin Epigraphy at Vienna University in 2017. It is the aim of this new series to promote Byzantine Epigraphy and to stress its significance for research on Byzantine culture
