Abstract

"The present volume provides systematically arranged detailed information on all aspects of the speeches i.e., languages or dialects of all the eight tribal communities inhabiting in the Idukki District of Kerala. Details regarding the life and culture of each community are also provided so as to function as a helpful back drop for the linguistic outline. This encapsulates the findings of the first sociolinguistic survey of a well defined area in Kerala.
