Abstract

Join Peter Bell and guests for an enlightening live panel session designed to demystify the changing role of the chief technology officer as companies scale and the skills you need to succeed. You’ll look at the lifecycle of a venture-funded startup from the early days of bootstrapping and working on product market fit, through scaling out the organization, improving the predictability of delivery, and eventually, as a public company, confronting the hard choices involved in investing in long-term innovation while delivering profits. Along the way, you’ll examine the relationships among engineering, product, data, and platform and look at some of the trends influencing the scope of the CTO role. Throughout, you’ll learn the skills you need to develop to become a successful CTO, how to identify the right size company to work with, and the good, the bad, and the ugly of being the face of the engineering org at an executive level.
