She discusses medicine's approach to the subject, such as diagnosing the insane, signs of insanity, and treatment methods, as well as society's perspective on the insane. She also takes into account the influence of religion on the treatment of the insane in the Ottoman Empire and the attitude of the Ottoman state towards the insane
