Abstract

"Editors Weismann and Malik have done a fabulous service by compiling this collection of timely essays about the place of da'wa, or "proselytization," in modern, globalized Islam. The authors and editors define and problematize the term carefully and lay out the need for a work such as this. At a time when much Western media is myopically focused on extremism and the more violent manifestations of global jihad, the Islamic world is fundamentally and simply more concerned with proselytization.
