Abstract

This book covers different aspects of assistive technologies. It sets up the plan for clarifying the definition and the precise role of assistive technologies in other disabilities and functional impairments. It expands the scope of assistive technologies from disabilities to functional impairments caused due to old age, various injuries, chronic diseases, neurodevelopmental disorders, and mental health conditions. Its comprehensive literature review describes current and emerging devices and presents evidence-based guidelines for matching promising technologies to individuals.
